Collar Clinic on the internet has refurbished collars of different brands and models. My collar is an old Tritronics designed for small dogs, the Beagler. No tone (I make up for it by yelling and using the whistle) but it has a one mile range. I got the collar battery unit from Collar Clinic.

Since I am sitting with nothing else to do but read lol. I agree Kathy, I don't want them ignoring my voice, no second chance, follow the command or suffer the consequences. If I used it, it would be for positive reinforcement only. One option I have used successfully is the vibrate option on a deft dog. Check the collar clinic (google it) They sale referbs and closeout collars and can really stretch the budget with some of their specials. I have had great success with their service. They fix them and are pretty honest on which ones to stay away from, ask some questions.

LOVE that Collar Clinic! My used collar that I bought off of eBay croaked and they fixed it right up! Hey how is your foot? I had surgery on one foot when my big toe quit bending, and the doctor told me to stay off it for a day. So of course I went dove hunting wearing my little walking cast immediately. Boy did my foot ache after that. Turns out he had pinned some tendons in place and didn't tell me!
