Riding shotgun headed to deer camp this past weekend. Rowdy made his first trip to the vet this morning for a round of shots. The little fat boy weighed in at 12.8lbs.

I want to do the same with Jackson, but concerned about lack of rabies vac. Are you going to keep him on lead or let him free roam with you? I am going this weekend.

knock on wood he hasnt gotten far from me yet. He may look at me an flat ignore me when calling his name but if i leave him in the back yard and sneak inside it's only a minute or two before he figures out I'm gone and starts screaming and jumping at the back door. In the next couple of weeks he'll get his first blood line and yea I probably will work him on lead if I can. So far he HATES a leash with a passion. He hasn't gotten to free roam but just around the camp where he has a kennel on the porch that he goes in for now when I'm off playing. Thanks I saw Jackson's pic and he's definately a fine dog.

Ha! We'd be in the ditch before I could blink. Lost a playstation remote this morning. Was busy drinking coffee at 6am and watching the weather praying for rain for all the seed we put out this weekend and didnt see that he had knocked open the door to the entertainment center.

He's not going to wander off... As soon as he realizes he doesn't know where you are, he will come running!

How did he do at camp today. Going to take Jackson for a few days at the end of week. He did fine. It was somewhat of a relief having some other dogs there for him to play with...something besides me. I need another one just to wear him out.

Lacys usually dont wander far when they decide its time for some lookin around. I would think in most cases they would be within a couple hundred yards at most.

Lacys usually dont wander far when they decide its time for some lookin around. I would think in most cases they would be within a couple hundred yards at most. Well mine wondered off far enough to eat this. I try to keep a close eye on him at all times but somehow I slipped up. I'm guessing he found this rope at deer camp where crap/fun stuff is all over the place. That would mean he ate this on Saturday or Sunday. I woke up this morning around 6 and he had puked in his kennel. I left the house around 8:30 and came home around 11:15 to check on him and he had puked again. I called my customer and friend which happens to be my vet and he sayed give him two teaspoons of Pepto which I did. I got home around 5 and he had puked yet again then twice more in 10 minutes of being home. About that time my vet called to check on him and said he'd meet me at the clinic at 6:15pm. He felt around on his stomach and said he felt something and wanted me to leave him with him. He did an Xray and called me to say something large was there and was going to open him up. He found 18 inches of rope about the size of an extension cord. Long story short my little buddy is chilling at the vet right now and I miss him. He said he wants to keep him for a couple of days. Doc said after the first sedative my pup was still raising hell barking and carrying on and there's no way I could keep that dog calm enough without drugs long of enough for stiches to start healing. Ya'll please keep a close eye on your pups and say a little prayer for mine

Thank goodness the doc was able to get this out without complications... I have another story about a pup swallowing something that doesn't have a good ending. I will be sharing it soon.
People, please be careful with these new pups. They can find ways to get in trouble in a hurry!
