None of our dogs has ever decided to jump over the fence and run loose, even though it's only six feet tall. And, they can easily clear it if they choose. But, the neighbors dogs taught Jones that if they hit the boards just right, they can break the wooden pickets off right below the bottom stringer, and get out. He was making this a very expensive habit, and I got tired of having to get in the truck and go find him in the neighborhood. So, I installed an electric fence charger, with the wire run right at the bottom of the fence. He hit it once, and once only....
Now, he stays in the yard, and I'm not rebuilding the fence one piece at a time any more!
