I really like the newsletter and i cant complain about the pictures because only one of two people i know on this forum can take good pictures, no offense to anyone other then rod or courtney ... I know you guys are out having fun so Ill wait til yall get back for a response, hope yall have a blast!!!! I dont want to be a drag here but isnt it only proper to at least site the dogs name in yalls newsletter even if its from the photographer? Am I being over ridiculous here or? Im just thinking that maybe someone else might be a little sensitive about seeing their dog in a newsletter since all the hipe about credentials on another forum... am I being over bearing??? I know if this was any other forum, I would have an issue with seeing my dogs pictures without my approval so I just wanted to voice my opinion...

dovvehunter79,
I could be wrong but I think Clifford ask for permission on some of the photos prior to printing them. I believe the ones that camo submitted.
Like I said I could be wrong but I think thats what I was told. I know Clifford and Cristi didnt want to publish anything without permission....maybe something fell through the cracks and if thats the case Im sure it will be handled correctly when they return from the fun day.

I took the pictures of Jazz and Jones on the 1st page of the newletter. Those were taken while Cristi and Clifford were here picking up Jemma. There were a couple more puppy pictures that I also took and had emailed while Jemma was here in the whelping box. I think John's pics were taken while he was at the bay and emailed to him later. Don't know about the other pics

Welcome back Dovey! I will tell Cristi to add names to the pics when we know them. But, in some cases, we are not sure what the correct name is, if the pic is submitted by the person who wrote the article.

Jeff,
I found the picture of the Awesome Lacy, Sissy! I honestly didn't know that was her until your post. I'll ask for names on our next newsletter.
So how are you and Sissy? Glad to see your back on the forums.

Jeff, Clifford, and Cristi,
I feel there is a lot of misinformation out there about copyrights and ownership and I'd like to clear some of that up. A photographer in a public place can take pictures of people and animals who are openly in public view (for example; on a street, at an event, ect) and that photographer has no obligations to the person being photographed or the owner of the animal being photographed unless the photos are intended for commercial use. Rod and I take hundreds of pictures of other people and their dogs and it is not practical for us to record the name of every dog and its owner.
Now, if my article was about lacy cow dogs and I used pictures I took of Sissy working cattle to demonstrate the procedures outlined in my article it would be appropriate (though still not mandatory) for me to acknowledge the dog and her owner/handler in the article or a caption. In this case the article is about photography and I feel the names of dogs and owners is irrelevant.
I hope you understand. Events such as the Play Day and Blood Trail Seminar provide excellent opportunities to photograph other dogs and their owners participating in the activities.

Cristy... it wasnt one in particular, I was under the impression that all of them had to be cited, Courtney explained well enough... Thanks Courtney
Also, we are doing well, shes just as much of a terd now as she was a year ago she just likes to play little miss dominance more now that shes getting older. Luna is one that wont take sissy's crap, she stood her hair up all the way down her back and stood her own ground, she looked like a razorback. I think its good that she gets put in her place by other dogs
