Hey, I've never noticed this on our other Lacys but Lila when alarmed will raise just a sliver of hackles from her head all the way down her body. It's the funniest sight. Then last night she really got spooked by something outside and had a couple of inches standing straight up. She goes bouncing forward and boof, boof, boof, and coming bouncing back. Like a spring buck antelope.

Pearlie gets a ridge up on her shoulders, and she bounces says boof too! Hilarious! Does Lila "spyhop" too? Pearl goes bouncing forward and rises higher up on her front legs for a better view. Do all Lacys do this, or only females, or only short little females like Pearlie?

I have seen all of our dogs do both of these things...
Watching Jazz "mouse" like a fox is great entertainment, especially when Hoggy Dog Jones tries to steal what ever it is she is after... They spend hours in the long grass behind my camp every time we are up there, looking for critters! Jemma hasn't learnied this yet, but probably will this Fall.
The raised hair makes em look more ferocious, and is a natural reaction to any perceived threat!
