Today my husband called to tell me that he figured out what the dogs were barking at in the back yard. What, I asked. Belle. Now Belle was buried in a hole which was as long as she was and at least four feet deep. She was laid to rest off our side porch, on the side of our woods. Ben said he found our old, decrepit lab in hole that the Lacys had dug on top of her grave. The hole was about 10 inches deep. Duke had gotten in but couldn't jump out. Yes, he's very old and arthritic. Well I found this to be a very disturbingly funny situation. All the dogs had been there when we laid Belle to rest and I'd not noticed them messing with her grave other than sniffing. So do you think that they can still smell her?

Yes, they can smell her.... Cadaver dogs find bodies that have been underground much longer than that!
