We have several bird boxes, and each year try to watch the Bluebirds, Titmouses, and Carolina Wrens raise new families. Having three Lacys in the yard requires a lot of watching, or when the babies fly down its over...
Yesterday, I caught Jones about to have a feathered snack... But, other than killing myself running across the yard to stop that, it all worked out right... We had babies flying around, all afternoon, and all of the boxes are empty again... Its amazing how fast these little ones learn to fly!

This time of year we have to watch the dogs really close. And since we have been moving alot of habitat around here the deer are hiding their babies in the corn field. The blue children of the corn have been put on notice (they get to run with their e collars on) so we don't have fawns get hurt. Baby possums and rabbits are still fair game though.

MLAO, blue children of the corn!!! So far Pearl hasn't found any baby birds, knocking on wood. But one time a mockingbird was scolding my cattledog Emma and dive-bombing her and Emma caught it! She was pretty spry in her younger years.

Flint usually brings them to me slobbered but still kicking. He hasn't brought any babies yet though.

I remember when he brought you a woodpecker or a flicker and it flew away unhurt!
