Help please....my wife and I are wanting to buy a new camera, we are not accomplished photographers, we are rookies, as rookie as you can get. That being said we want good equipment, some of our interest are taking photos of old business signs in the Austin area and we want to enlarge them to put them on canvas. We've been looking at the Nikon D90 but still trying to learn more.
Any and all input would greatly be appreciated.
PS....alot of the shots will be at night or low light conditions...hope that helps

What kind of camera are you looking for? An SLR with the ability to change lenses or a point and shoot that will fit in your wife's purse?

I own the D60 and have been more than happy with it's ability. I can't afford the D90!!! The D90 will do anything and has the accessories that are too numerous to count. If you can afford it get it...I WILL BE JEALOUS!

I almost always go with slightly used camera equipment versus buying brand new. I look for great deals on manufacturer refurbished products through B&H Photo. Manufacturer refurbished products come with a manufacturer warranty that is usually 90 days. Any defects should show up within that time frame. I use Canon equipment but the D90 is a fine choice for a beginner or a professional looking for a lighter body. As you gain experience you won't outgrow that model.

Thanks Courtney, I really needed to hear that. I certainly do not want to outgrow the equipment any time soon. That is so frustrating, spending alot of money and wishing you had bought up to the next level.
Thanks
Ill look into the used equipment as well
