I heard stories from Bud and Marlo about the escapades of lacys in heat and lust and the things they'd do to obtain the object of their desire. But I really think you experienced breeders should warn us green horns about the perils of sweet love. ha ha ha ha
Actually, i should be really pissed at Amos today but it's too funny. Today is the first day that Ben has not been home on and off most of the day to let Amos and Lila out at separate times. I leave at 6am and had a meeting so didn't get home until 8. Ben left around 7am and still isn't home..but I digress. We decided to kennel Lila and Otis in our outside run but to keep Amos inside since he could easily jump the kennel fence. We have another fence around our acreage so I felt safe enough about it all.
Ben decided to lock him in our spare bedroom (mistake #2), The dogs are kept in the "dog" room so I'm not sure yet what he was thinking. Now granted it was a long day for Amos but before I could even open the door he was smashing himself against it and I could see what looked to be #2 pencils chewed up. If only it had been. From the looks of things in the there he had tried to jump through a window and knocked over a lamp, no harm done. But he did attempt to chew his way to freedom by modifying the wood trim around the door. And I don't mean a little bit either.
Now I know how powerful Lila's spell is cause this dog is 4 yrs old and he has never chewed anything up. Never, ever. So tomorrow he'll go in an inside crate (mistake #1) in the "dog" room which is where he should have been. I don't know what in the hell Ben was thinking since we never keep him in any room but the dog room??
I'm taking bets that the outside kennel i've been planning and saving for gets built before Lila comes into heat again.
