We determined this past weekend that about the only thing that keeps two intact males dogs busy enough to ignore each other is a bad ass hog. Jones and Patch tied up several times, and without John and I pulling them apart, there is no doubt that the results would have required numerous staples! Jones got his ears peirced, and let me tell that is one bloody mess! All of the BS about socializing them is out the window when you have two males that are not around each other a lot, and you can be as domnant as you wish, they will still try to fight! Either of these two are totally easy to handle, but the combination is like gasoline and matches! The only thing that kept them from fighting in the bay pen was the hog who was more than willing to let them know what would happen if they didn't concentrate on him!

Clifford, remember we found that to be the case when you came to MS to visit Lauren and Baze. I watched Amos around his sire Luke. He bowed up and walked stiff legged but we talked them both down. They didn't fight..I guess Amos deferred to an older wiser male? But Amos and Jones did not like each other from the get go. I think it has more to do with guarding their territory or property (i.e., you).
