This topic has been brought up before either on this forum or on the other forum that can't be mentioned. But with the addition of Lila into our family I have finally paid attention to all of the different things my Lacys have to say. Describing them, in writing, is a whole nother matter.
Lila is without a doubt the most vocal dog we've ever owned. She has a whole array of squeeks, chirps, moans, and barks. She's very bossy with the other dogs and possesive of her food, food on the counter, food on a plate, empty bowl of anything, me, the bed, etc etc. She stands guard, blocks with her body and give out a sharp yap at any other pet coming by. And they pay attention too.
But when I'm carrying her (yes, like a little baby being cradeled) and getting ready for bed she gives out the cutest little grunt/moan. She'll even do it when I'm not touching her; when she's just laying on the bed ready to go to sleep.
Otis will also give out a loud moan type sound to get my attention. He'll be quietly staring at me, trying to get my attention and then just busts out with it. I make a game out of it to see how long he can stand it before he let goes with it. As soon as he is recognized he'll be all over my face and neck with kisses. He's so adorable.
Amos communicates mostly with his eyes and body. Look at the stick, look at my eyes, look at the stick, look at my eyes. Once in a while his exurberance will get the best of him and he'll give out a very loud bark .."throw the dang stick". He's also very subtle when he finds a snake. If you hear him do a very low growl then you better pay attention.
There's a lot more sounds but these are my favorite.
