Since I couldn't post in the Dog News section I guess I'll post here!
Star will be hitchhiking back with Rebecca next weekend. From there she will be going to reside with Shayne G. in Georgia.
I have been looking for Star a new home for a few months now and I think Shayne's facility will make a great place to continue her training and her potential.
Star has come along way since we first met and she wouldn't even look me in the eye. This dog also taught me what a little bit of patience can accomplish.

What is Star's back story? She is going to Lacy paradise at Shayne's: cows, woods and deer! And dog-loving little girls to spoil her rotten!

I contacted a man about a female Lacy that his Dad no longer had the time for. I went to Houston to meet Star about 14 months ago. Long story short, Star was in flight mode. She was kept in a kennel all day while everyone was at work and was then expected to stay in a 50 X 50 Yard. Well she wasn't having that. As soon as she was let out over the 6 foot privacy fence she went. She was running the show. When I went to pick her up she wouldn't even make eye contact with me. For the next week Star was tied to my hip...literally. If I went there she had no choice but to go with me. After that and alot of running she understood the alpha thing and became a pretty obedient dog. Now mind you she had her days but we worked around them. She will come from a half a mile away (provided she doesn't see a deer...then well...we are screwed) and is a very affectionate dog. You couldn't pet her without her nipping you when i first got her. Lots of time and patience has gone into Star but she still has some training ahead of her. She loves to track...very high prey drive dog. I have been looking for a home for Star but had as of yet to meet the right prospective owner who understand what Star needs to progress in her training. After talking with Shayne...well you know the rest
