yesterday started off with all the dogs barking like crazy which I ignored for a while since it was early and cold. But when I walked out a little later I could see everyone but Amos and I could hear his very muffled barks. I knew he was in a gopher turtle hole which is not unusual. The armadillos reside in there along with the turtles and rattlers. Anyway, i took off running through our woods, promptly stepping ina gooey pile of dog crap. When I got to Amos all the dogs were very excited. Amos exited the hole and Otis went down...up to his tail i tell you. Otis kinda muffled around and then came out. Amos went back down into the hole and promptly pulled out this huge possum. He'd already done most of the damage but then proceeded to shake the every loving crap out of it. Not wanting to have dogs with dead animal smell I just picked it up by the tail and threw it over the fence! So that was the excitement of their Sunday!

I wonder if they stink as bad as a rabbit when you open them up.

You gotta keep em in cage, and feed em corn for a month before you kill em!

Can't do that for certain..Ben would have named it and considered it his little buddy within a week. He can't stand me shooting a squirrel or varmit. He even wanted to "save" the little possum I shot INSIDE my chicken coop. Naturally I dispatcched the little Bast$rd before he got away.
