I was contacted by someone who asked me to see what I could do for these folks... Here's their plea on another forum, from over in GA...
I have a blue lacy dog ,sweet and very smart but has a aggression issues in her i cant get out of her and according to what I;ve read I am to blame for not using her for what she was bred for ,as I thought I would when I got her,so now she is pretty much a housedog ,and i exercise her alot but its not satisfying her, we used her for tracking wounded deer which she was great at but unable to continue that ,she attacked one of my smaller dogs today barely missing her eye and needed stitches ,she has become more and more protective of the house and me, to a point where I cant have anyone over without locking her in my bedroom, due to her growling and afraid she would bite I READ THAT this is what can happens when Lacys are not working so thought I would check on here to see if anyone knew of someone who could work with her that knows the breed ect and wants to try to do something with her and give her a good home doing what she was bred for, the only other option i got was given was from the vet to put her to sleep which of course i dont want to because spite her bad BEHAVIOR she is a smart loving dog but will have to if need be
After calling them, and asking a few questions, I gave them my opinion, and advised them to contact the breeder who sold them the dog. I heard he had lost most of his, and he might take her back... I hate these things, which is why I am picky about who gets a pup!

These stories are becoming more and more often. I get these calls all the time! I give the same advise call your breeder . I can tell you a lot of times I am told the breeder blames the buyer for the dogs issues and for good reason they are not working the dogs or spending time with the dog . I agree to a certain point but at what point does the breeder have to take responsibility . This person has one of your dogs how did they get it ? As a breeder you to must do your home work. That is if you are selling to only working homes and we all know there are breeders that are selling just pets but use the excuse they told me they were going to work it. I make my buyers prove to me that they hunt or hog hunt or blood trail . I want pictures and proof that they do.They want proof from me about my dogs I provide it for them !!! Lacy's can make good pets it they as long as they have a outlet a job to do . 2 times a year blood trailing your friends deer is not a working dog or enough activity they need more. That or you better have a lot of time to spend with the dog to keep it out of trouble.JMO

I am no expert, but in this case it seems like the trouble started when the new baby arrived at the house... It sounded like the dog got a lot less attention, naturally, and that was the origin of the problem... Unfortunately, from what I was told, I was concerned about putting the dog and the baby in close contact now... Trying to find stable families can be a chore... But, it is better than having to rehome older dogs!

It just seems that there are lots of dogs on DogFinder that are up for adoption due to loss of home from divorce, job loss, etc....
