Up here at hunting camp, the dogs spend their nights in crates, or they are supposed to... And, since not everyone appreciates dogs like we do, can you believe it, mine have their own special room off the kitchen which keeps them out of the way. Unfortunately, their room also has an outside door, and we get visits from critters during the night. So, occasionally the Lacys will let us know that they are aware of something moving around outside. This can interrupt a good night's sleep, but I am used to it...
Well, the other night, Jones decided that he needed to make the wake up a little more personal. So, he figured out how to get the crate door open, and got the kitchen door open too, allowing him access to my bedroom.
He woke me up just like he does at home, by tapping me on my arm... After the initial shock, I stared at those deep amber eyes, and just laughed. That rascal never ceases to amaze me!

When I was there I saw Jones figuring out the latch.
He uses his nose to lift it then puts his paw on the bottom of the door then works the top latch.
