I have A blue lacy very smart ,and for the most part obediant ,I didnt really know the best place to post this, but maybe someone can help here . I have had stormy for around 4 yrs since she was 6 wks old and even as a puppy she growled and was a bit nippy not in a normal puppy way ,took her to the vet when she was 6 months old to get some advise from him he recommended spaying her and said when she growls or nip in a aggressive way he said to push her head toward the ground so we did that and it worked ,after that she was alright but still acted sneaky like around some of my family, and when she was abought 2 she nipped the back of my brother in laws leg so I only allowed her in her fenced in yard or on a leash things were ok for a while then ,I got pregnant with my 4th baby last year which was a big gap between my other children, and she became very protective of me and the home and aggresive toward my dachshund that she has always gotten along with and only a select few will she be fine with in our home ,I exercise her and as long as I am with her in the fenced in area she wont jump the fence ,but yesterday she got a hold of my dashchund an tore her face up to the point it needed stitches and and barely missed her eye my vet reccomended putting her to sleep ,I have done some reading and read where blue lacy's can become aggresive if not worked ,and do what they were bred to do ,We did use her for tracking wounded deer which she was great at, but my husband no longer wants to take her with him because of her aggresion toward other people and he goes hunting with his friends ,its seems like she isnt happy ,we take great care of her but I guess we are not what she needs so before I have to put her to sleep I was going to see if anyone has ever had to deal with this situation. I love her very much and spite her agravaiting aggresion she is a wonderful dog obeys where I tell her to go. Attachments:

Looking at this from a breeder standpoint. I would want to be contacted as soon as a problem arose so I could help you through the situation. That is my advise contact the breeder ASAP. I am sure they will come up with a solution and/or be happy to take the dog back.

Is it just me, or does that dog have a blouse and a necklace on?

If the breeder won't help, what about getting a dog trainer to work with you one-on-one? Would you keep her if she was not aggressive?

I also agree that the breeder should be contacted. If that doesnt work out then try a trainer like was said above. The dog is probably just being a lacy, they tend to do these things from time to time.
Hope all works out well........

Looks like a pinch collar to me. I p.m.'ed her on the other forum. She is sort of near my herding trainer and he could help. I gave her other options too, somebody might want the dog since it blood tracked previously.

It would be a good thing to get this resolved without re-homing the dog... Have you been in touch with the breeder to see what he can do to help you?

Lashea I am glad you are keeping her, Lacys are smart dogs but if you give them an inch they will take a mile! Working with a trainer should help. My male Lacy is currently frisbee-obsessed, he thanks that is his purpose in life and pesters me to death! Wait until squirrel season and deer season! Kathy
